Two Zilber MPH students receive promising practitioner awards

This spring, two Zilber School of Public Health Master of Public Health students, Shivangini Gupta and Emily Lynch, received 2020 City of Milwaukee Health Department Promising Practitioner Awards.

The award recognizes outstanding Masters of Public Health students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health who show exceptional promise as future public health practitioners.

In 2002, the American Public Health Association presented former City of Milwaukee Health Commissioner Seth Foldy with the prestigious Roemer Prize, recognizing creative local public health work. Dr. Foldy chose to invest his prize money into an endowment that would recognize emerging health leadership in Milwaukee. Because of this generous gift, each awardee receives $500 as an award recipient.
