Testing Milwaukee Waterways For Human Impact

In November, a group of scientists and volunteers pulled samples from three Milwaukee area rivers to test for signs of the holiday showing up in the waterways. They tested for vanilla, cinnamon and the painkiller acetaminophen in an effort to measure the connection between humans and local rivers in Wisconsin. Zilber School of Public Health Associate Professor of Environmental Health Sciences Todd Miller appeared on NPR to talk about the study. Listen here.
