Field Experience

An integral component of the Master of Public Health (MPH) curriculum, the Field Experience enables students to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to the practice setting. This mentored placement engages a Faculty Advisor and a Site Preceptor to support the student in completion of 240 hours of work.

Organizations interested in hosting a Master of Public Health student for their required internship experience should fill out the Field Experience Site Application and submit it to Thalia Williams at

Students can review the Field Experience Handbook for a complete description of the internship, a timeline to enroll, and important forms.

Preceptors can learn more about field experiences at the Zilber School of Public Health in the Field Experience Overview for Preceptors.
