An integral component of the Master of Public Health (MPH) curriculum, the Field Experience enables students to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to the practice setting. This mentored placement engages a Faculty Advisor and a Site Preceptor to support the student in completion of 240 hours of work.
Preceptors are an integral part of this experience. For an overview of the preceptor role, please see this checklist and set of expectations. If you have any questions about this role, please contact Thalia Williams at email@example.com. Organizations interested in hosting a Master of Public Health student for their required internship experience should fill out the Field Experience Site Application and submit it to Thalia Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students can review the Field Experience Handbook for a complete description of the internship, a timeline to enroll, and important forms.
