Dr. Ellen Velie honored as Joan K. Van Deuren Professor in Breast Cancer Research at Medical College of Wisconsin

Dr. Ellen Velie was installed as the Joan K. “I really enjoyed meeting the Donovans and am very honored to have received this award generously provided by the Van Deuren family to help to facilitate our breast cancer research,” said Dr. Velie. “We certainly hope that our research will help to provide insights in how to prevent this disease that affects so many women.”

Dr. Velie serves a joint appointment between the UWM Zilber School of Public Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Velie is a professor of epidemiology at the Zilber School, and holds a faculty appointment as professor of medicine and professor of pathology at MCW.
