{"id":1366,"date":"2026-01-21T15:47:20","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T21:47:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/?post_type=library&#038;p=1366"},"modified":"2026-03-16T13:24:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T18:24:35","slug":"appendix-a","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/library\/workplace-safety\/appendix-a\/","title":{"rendered":"Appendix A &#8211; Performance and Accountability Standards for Administrators, Directors, Managers, and Supervisors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<p>The following information is intended as standards for administrators, directors, managers and supervisors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-occupational-safety-performance-and-accountability-standards\">Occupational Safety Performance and Accountability Standards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Administrators, directors, managers and supervisors will:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advise and assist your management\/supervisors and other staff in preventing and controlling occupational injuries and illnesses.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assure that the operational units for which you are responsible abide by the health and safety rules set forth by the Wisconsin Building Code, federal, state and local requirements and regulations, UWM and UW System policies and the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, <a href=\"http:\/\/dsps.wi.gov\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/dsps.wi.gov\/Home<\/a>, as set forth on the Department of University Safety and Assurances web page,&nbsp; https:\/\/uwm.edu\/safety-and-assurances\/ or as found through safety assessments\/inspections.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assure that identified risks and hazards are corrected as necessary and in a prompt and responsible manner when so directed by Federal, Local, State or UW System\/Department of Administration Inspectors or the Department of University Safety and Assurances.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assure that authority over safety protocols and the provision of safety equipment is maintained in your areas of responsibility and assure that there are written safety standards and objectives.
