SUMMARY:Seeing Black Holes
DESCRIPTION:Join us as UWM’s new Professor\, Dr. Lia Medeiros\, discusses how telescopes all over the world came together to take the first ever image of a black hole and how she used this image to test Einstein’s theory of gravity. She will also discuss how she used her new machine learning algorithm to make the highest resolution image of a black hole to date. \n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4. There will be complimentary appetizers and a bar with drinks for purchase in the lobby. \n\n\n\nThe event will be held in Room 110 of the new Chemistry building on the UW-Milwaukee campus.
