DESCRIPTION:Celebrate 60 years of the UWM Planetarium with our annual open house. Enjoy free cake plus a live\, indoor 20-minute presentation and stargazing show that will take audience members on a live\, interactive tour of the night sky. Shows will run every half hour and highlight some favorite astronomical topics and seasonal constellations such as Orion\, Taurus\, and the Winter Circle.  \n\n\n\nThe program will include an indoor stargazing session of the night sky followed by the opportunity to ask questions. This event is open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4. SUMMARY:Rooftop Stargazing
DESCRIPTION:Gaze at the night sky through our telescopes on select dates! Weather permitting\, view the Moon\, planets\, star clusters\, and other astronomical objects. Stargazing sessions are free and open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStargazing sessions take place throughout the year on the Skydeck located on the roof of the UWM Physics building as well as in other locations for special events. See below for the latest schedule. \n\n\n\nSessions may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions (rain\, snow\, temperatures below 0° F)or cloudiness. Please check the event status on this page after 5:30pm on the day of the session before visiting. DESCRIPTION:Gaze at the night sky through our telescopes on select dates! Weather permitting\, view the Moon\, planets\, star clusters\, and other astronomical objects. Stargazing sessions are free and open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStargazing sessions take place throughout the year on the Skydeck located on the roof of the UWM Physics building as well as in other locations for special events. DESCRIPTION:Gaze at the night sky through our telescopes on select dates! Weather permitting\, view the Moon\, planets\, star clusters\, and other astronomical objects. Stargazing sessions are free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Gaze at the night sky through our telescopes on select dates! Weather permitting\, view the Moon\, planets\, star clusters\, and other astronomical objects. Stargazing sessions are free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a fun night of stargazing and delicious s’mores! Join us outside while roasting marshmallows\, playing games\, and meeting new people. S’mores kits are free (one per person while supplies last). Catch a free 20-minute indoor planetarium stargazing show. Planetarium shows will run every 30 minutes\, rain or shine.  \n\n\n\nThis event is open to the public. Not recommended for children under 4. Seats are first come first serve. We do not accept ticket reservations for free shows in advance. \n\n\n\nThe planetarium is a theater that projects stars\, planets\, the Sun\, and the Moon on a 30-foot dome. Portions of the show involve complete darkness and may not be suitable for children under 4.  \n\n\n\nDoors close 5 minutes after the planetarium show starts. Sorry\, no late admissions. \n\n\n\nLocation & Parking\n\n\n\nAddress\n\n\n\nThe Manfred Olson Planetarium is located inside the UW-Milwaukee Physics building: \n\n\n\nPhysics Building Room 1391900 E Kenwood BlvdMilwaukee\, WI\, 53211 \n\n\n\nThe main entrance to the Physics building is on Kenwood Blvd. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility\n\n\n\nThere is one wheelchair-accessible entrance via the path between the Physics building and EMS building off Cramer St. (see map below). \n\n\n\nUnfortunately\, our rooftop stargazing deck is not wheelchair accessible. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMap\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParking\n\n\n\nThere is no free parking on campus. Please allow extra time to park when you visit. \n\n\n\nParking permit booth\n\n\n\nCunningham Lot parking is available for purchase just north of the Physics building. The entrance is at the corner of Cramer and Hartford. Please be sure to avoid the spots that are for permit holders (they say “This spot is reserved for staff/faculty”). Pricing varies from $1-2/hour depending on the time and day. \n\n\n\nYou may be able to find street parking (both metered and free) but be sure to read the street signs for restrictions. \n\n\n\nPayment for parking spots can be done by using the Parkmobile smartphone app or pay stations located on the perimeter of the lot. Purchase a parking ticket from one of the booths by entering your license plate number and the amount of time you will be parked. The booth accepts cash\, Visa\, and Mastercard.For additional information\, please visit Transportation Services. \n\n\n\n\n\nHow to park your vehicle.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTransportation\n\n\n\nThe Green Line and 66 bus routes have stops near the Physics building. Other nearby routes with on-campus stops are the Red Line\, Gold Line\,  and 30. For more info see the MCTS website.
