CANCELLED – Instrumental Ideas 3: Improvising with the Universe (featuring Tontine Ensemble)

Due to the present COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, this event has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule later in the year.

Explore the connections between celestial and musical cycles with a night of improvised music under the stars. UWM musicologist Tim Sterner Miller will discuss historical discourses surrounding instruments as scientific devices and instrumental performance as a parallel to scientific research, followed by live music from Tontine Ensemble. Tontine Ensemble, which features several UWM alumni and specializes in experimental music, will perform improvised pieces that interact with projections of the night sky and other celestial phenomena. Tickets are $6 general admission (free for UWM students) and will be available at
