Coffee\/tea\/cookies will be available starting at 3:30 PM in the open area outside of the 3rd floor kitchenette area in the KIRC.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"tight\">Interplay of Superconductivity and Structural Transition\/CDW State<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Yuxuan Wang<\/strong>, Professor, Center for Correlated Matter &amp; the Dept. of Physics, Zhejiang University<\/p>\n<p>The interplay of superconductivity and charge-density-wave (CDW) state remains a frontier topic in condensed matter physics.  The newly discovered superconductors BaPt<sub>2<\/sub>As<sub>2<\/sub> and EuFBiS<sub>2<\/sub> showed evidence for the existence of superconductivity (SC) and a possible CDW state.<\/p>\n<p>To study the possible interplays of SC and CDW in these compounds, in this talk I will present our recent measurements of the electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and XRD diffraction under pressure, which leads to rich temperature-pressure phase diagrams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday, 17 November 2015, 4:00 PM, Physics 147.
