A Randomized Controlled Trial of the Effects of Offering No-fee Basic Dental Care to Older Adults

This study is assessing the broad health effects of providing access to 5 years of no-fee dental care to a target population of over 500 older adults.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The student would support the recruitment of study participants on-site at the University of Chicago Medical Center, which is located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. After the student goes through all onboarding (including CITI and study-specific training, and any other required training), day-to-day responsibilities would include talking to patients about the study and collecting study data from those patients who consent/enroll. Other responsibilities may include the design of semi-automated study progress reports using computer programming.

1. Experience talking to patients in health care clinics or hospitals about participating in health care research
2. Good time management
3. Experience with project management
4. Computer programming skills
5. Student would be completing paid research internship in Chicago during the summer of 2019
