Dylan was a geosciences major at UWM who was fascinated with prehistoric life. He got involved with research as a freshman. Dylan completed his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California in 2018, and is currently an ERC postdoctoral fellow at the Institut de Physique du Globe in Paris, France (IPGP).
