LEARN PORTUGUESE – A LANGUAGE SPOKEN BY 260 MILLION SPEAKERS IN BRAZIL, PORTUGAL, AND SEVERAL COUNTRIES IN AFRICA!
Portuguese 110 is an accelerated Summer course for students with little or no previous knowledge of Portuguese. Students will develop an intermediate level proficiency (according to the guidelines developed by ACTFL – American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) in listening, speaking and written in Portuguese. Moreover, students will be crossing boundaries, exploring the culture of the Lusophone World, thinking across them, and developing sensitivity to the cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries in comparison with their own culture. Also, at the endo of the course, students will have acquired competencies to pursue an advanced level of Portuguese in the Fall 2019, allowing to expand the offering Portuguese courses. This course follows a communicative approach to language learning and encourages personal, creative interaction, requiring both preparation at home and participation in online class. This course will use great tools to make possible interaction in Portuguese.
