She entered college unsure what career she wanted to pursue, but her interest in science and an invitation to join the UWM Nursing Scholars program sparked her interest in nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through UW-Milwaukee&#8217;s nursing program, Grace gained hands-on opportunities to practice the skills she would use as a nurse before graduating. That experience helped her build confidence and better understand what it&#8217;s really like to work in nursing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Grace, her time at UW-Milwaukee was about more than preparing for a career: The experiences and challenges she encountered helped her become more self-assured and shaped who she is today.
