{"id":23989,"date":"2023-11-14T12:41:54","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T18:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/nursing\/?p=23989"},"modified":"2024-03-11T10:33:45","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T15:33:45","slug":"new-portal-piloted-at-uwm-speeds-the-process-of-licensing-for-health-care-professionals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/nursing\/new-portal-piloted-at-uwm-speeds-the-process-of-licensing-for-health-care-professionals\/","title":{"rendered":"New portal, piloted at UWM, speeds the process of licensing for health care professionals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By: Laura Otto<br>UWM Report<br>November 14, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new tool will speed the licensing process for Wisconsin workers in health care fields by better connecting the state\u2019s licensing agency \u2013 the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) \u2013 with the Universities of Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DSPS Secretary Dan Hereth and Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman joined UWM College of Health Professions and Sciences Dean Kim Litwack on Nov. 14 to announce LicensE Educator Access Portal, or LEAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The portal was used in a pilot program last year involving five nursing schools, including UWM\u2019s, and is now ready to expand to other health care fields.
