Just announced, UW System awarded UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing $500,000 one time support to enhance clinical simulation experience for all current students. This one-time infusion would be used to support the critical infrastructure needed for student learning, and to support the active learning curriculum embraced in the College of Nursing. Simulation is a critical component of clinical education, and the expense of maintaining a clinical learning laboratory that reflects current practice requires capitol expenses. Simulation is integrated throughout the entire undergraduate curriculum.
The new equipment that will be purchased by this support will be used by current students, and once renovation of the new simulation space in UWM’s Northwest Quad is complete this equipment will be able to transition into the new space.
UW-Milwaukee was one of four state Colleges of Nursing to receive this support. UW-Oshkosh, UW Eau Claire and UW-Madison also received the award.
