The School of Nursing’s Study Center is here to contribute to your success by providing academic support and mentoring. 

The center is a comfortable place where students study individually or in small groups, network, attend Supplemental Instruction review sessions, relax or attend workshops and/or brown bag seminars.

The center helps students learn how to study more effectively.  Students are engaged to:

  • identify study strengths
  • improve learning skills
  • locate tutoring sessions
  • form study groups
  • identify campus resources

Nursing Study Center Offers

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction is a program especially designed for large lecture classes in which student tutors lead review sessions each week to review course material and provide personal attention to student questions. It is available for Chemistry 100, Chemistry 101, Chemistry 103, Anatomy & Physiology 202, Anatomy & Physiology 203.  Student study groups are formed for various pre-nursing and clinical nursing courses.

Workshops and Brown Bag Seminars

The center helps students connect to resources in the School and on campus through free workshops.

The center also hosts Brown Bag Seminars each month for all nursing students.  Popular speakers include UWM Nursing Alumni, current Nursing Graduate Students and School of Nursing faculty.
