UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing would like to congratulate Dr. Julia Snethen for her recent induction as a Fellow to the American Academy of Nursing (AAN). The AAN has over 2,000 fellows who are nursing leaders in education, management, practice and research.
Dr. Snethen is an Associate Professor at UWM College of Nursing and Associate Editor for Nursing Outlook. Her research includes an on-going maternal-child health educational-research program with colleagues in Thailand, leading to the dissemination of research and award winning presentations world-wide.
Dr. Snethen received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. Dr. Snethen studied maternal-child nursing at the University of Texas-Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where she received her Masters of Science degree in nursing in the functional tracts of nursing education and pediatric nurse practitioner. Attending school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Dr. Snethen completed her doctorate degree in nursing, where her research focused on adolescent’s perspectives of living with end-stage renal disease.
