All lab testing requires an order from a Norris Health Center medical provider.
Norris Health Center laboratory provides routine, preventative and diagnostic testing. Testing is performed by qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists, who all have received a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.
The medical laboratory at NHC has met all criteria for the Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality and pass a rigorous on-site survey. NHC has earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long term commitment to provide quality service to UWM students.
The NHC laboratory processes about 13,000 tests annually, many of these tests are performed in-house with results being conveyed to the medical provider during the visit.
