UWM architecture professor James Wasley\u2019s block-long fountain adjoins Freshwater Plaza, a mixed-use building on the northeast corner of First Street and Greenfield Avenue, just across the road from Rockwell Automation.<\/p>\n

The fountain in Milwaukee\u2019s Harbor District recirculates rain runoff, cleaning it in the process and keeping more water out of the sewer system.<\/p>\n

The project is an example of the UWM architecture school\u2019s intense engagement with the community. Plans call for a companion fountain a quarter-mile east in front of UWM\u2019s School of Freshwater Sciences. The matching fountains will help integrate the Harbor District into Walker\u2019s Point.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
