UW-Milwaukee is home to an impressive, though little known, art collection<\/a> of more than 7,600 items, ranging from Western to\u00a0non-Western, ancient to contemporary.<\/p>\n

The collection holds the work of such notable artists as Jean Arp, Joan Mir\u00f3, Henry Moore, Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder and Pablo Picasso.<\/p>\n

You can enjoy much of the Art Collection online,<\/a> and in exhibits in the UWM Art Gallery<\/a>\u00a0in Mitchell Hall.<\/p>\n

The Art History department also offers monthly talks on noteworthy objects in its Art Expos\u00e9 lecture series. Watch the department’s\u00a0calendar<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>\n

Here are some items from the collection, with comments from Art Expos\u00e9 lecturers.<\/p>\n
