Colleen Galambos, a professor of social work at the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, has been named to the Milwaukee Business Journal\u2019s 2020 Women of Influence list.<\/p>\n

Galambos was named to the list in the \u201cmentor\u201d category. She is one of 30 women honored by the publication<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese women are the cream of the crop of Milwaukee\u2019s professional community,\u201d the Milwaukee Business Journal said in announcing the winners. \u201cThey\u2019ve grown businesses, created products, inspired future generations and made southeastern Wisconsin a better place to live and work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Galambos, the Helen Bader Endowed Chair of Applied Gerontology<\/a> at the School of Social Welfare, is a member of a prestigious National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine committee that is studying the health and medical impacts of social isolation and loneliness<\/a> on adults 50 and older.<\/p>\n

A prolific researcher, Galambos also has extensive experience in clinical, administrative and policy positions in a variety of health and long-term care organizations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
