Attendees discover what inspires these accomplished women leaders and how to harness that energy to empower themselves.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_68269\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68269\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-68269\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2019\/02\/Ferial-Govashiri-Photo250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-68269\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ferial Govashiri<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the opening keynote presentation, \u201cFrom Politics to Business: First-Generation Success in America,\u201d Govashiri will be joined in conversation by Joan Prince, UWM vice chancellor of global inclusion and engagement. Govashiri, who also served as personal aide to President Barack Obama, will discuss her experiences as an immigrant who has found success in both the public and private sectors in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Hauser will host the luncheon keynote presentation, \u201cHow to Recognize and Resist Unconscious Bias in Our Lives.\u201d Hauser, director and producer at Finish Line Features and director of the film \u201cBias,\u201d will talk about how to recognize and resist unconscious bias as she explores the science around implicit bias and its impact, from sexual harassment to artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_68270\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-68270\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-68270\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2019\/02\/Robin-Hauser-Photo250x300-250x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-68270\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Robin Hauser<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to the keynote presentations, the conference includes ample opportunities to network with colleagues while enjoying a variety of educational seminars and panel discussions in areas such as diversity and inclusion, innovation and change, leadership and service, managing your career, and personal and professional wellness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 10 years, UW-Milwaukee\u2019s Women Leaders Conference has inspired, engaged and energized professional women through talks, panels and discussions,\u201d said Nancy Nelson, provost\u2019s deputy for continuing education at UWM. \u201cWe are proud of how our conference has grown and evolved over the last decade.
