Marcy Bidney, curator of the American Geographical Society Library, has been awarded the 2017 De Gruyter European Librarianship Study Grant<\/a> for her project, \u201cWhere the Water Flows: Documenting Collections of Late 19th and Early 20th Century Nautical Charts.”<\/p>\n

Sponsored by the Walter de Gruyter Foundation for Scholarship and Research and presented through the Association of College and Research Libraries, the grant provides \u20ac2,500 ($2,700) to support a trip to Europe. The grant’s primary criterion is the proposed project’s significance and utility as a contribution to the study of the acquisition, organization or use of library resources from or relating to Europe.<\/p>\n

Bidney joined the American Geographical Society Library as curator in 2012. She received her master’s degree in library science from Drexel University, her master’s degree in geography and urban studies from Temple University, and her bachelor’s degree in geography from Rowan University.<\/p>\n

Bidney will receive her award in June during the 2017 American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
