{"id":45280,"date":"2017-02-24T16:42:06","date_gmt":"2017-02-24T22:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=45280"},"modified":"2017-02-27T10:25:14","modified_gmt":"2017-02-27T16:25:14","slug":"uwm-offers-free-help-with-taxes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/uwm-offers-free-help-with-taxes\/","title":{"rendered":"UWM offers free help with taxes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee\u2019s Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research is once again teaming up with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarp.org\/money\/taxes\/aarp_taxaide\/?intcmp=FDN-FTR-LINKS\" target=\"_blank\">AARP Tax-Aide<\/a> to provide tax preparation assistance to students and neighborhood residents.<\/p>\n<p>A free walk-in session will be held at UWM\u2019s Cambridge Commons, 2323 N. Cambridge Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. No appointments are necessary.<\/p>\n<p>UWM students, primarily from the Beta Alpha Psi accounting student organization, have been trained as tax assistance volunteers to help those who seek tax filing assistance to get all of the deductions and claims they deserve.<\/p>\n<p>AARP provides experienced volunteers throughout the tax-season for each clinic date to assist student volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Additional dates for the free tax help sessions are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, March 11<\/li>\n<li>10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 1<\/li>\n<li>10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 8.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee\u2019s Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research is once again teaming up with AARP Tax Aide to provide tax preparation assistance to students and neighborhood residents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":40008,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","uwm_wg_additional_authors":[]},"categories":[174,200],"tags":[249],"section":[],"display_categories":[],"related-coverage":[],"uwmnews-feed":[162],"class_list":["post-45280","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","category-news-in-brief","tag-community-engagement","uwmnews-feed-business"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
