Two faculty members in the Peck School of the Arts could be in line for a Grammy.<\/p>\n

Greg Flint and Todd Levy played with the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra on a recording of the opera \u201cCold Mountain.\u201d The recording was nominated<\/a> for Grammy awards in two categories, Best Opera Recording and Best Contemporary Classical Composition.<\/p>\n

The world premiere recording was drawn from the premiere performances of the opera in summer 2015. Noted classical composer Jennifer Higdon composed the opera, her first.<\/p>\n

Flint, associate professor of music, horn, plays the French horn. Levy, adjunct professor and chamber music coach, plays the clarinet.<\/p>\n

Levy is principal clarinet of both the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and of the Santa Fe Opera. Flint has been principal horn with the Elgin Symphony since 2001, and has performed with the Chicago Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Ravinia Festival Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony, Colorado Orchestra, Honolulu Symphony and the Key West Symphony.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had seen Cold Mountain in development, in rehearsals, and in performance,\u201d Santa Fe Opera\u2019s general director Charles MacKay told the Santa Fe New Mexican<\/a>, \u201cbut hearing this sound recording was an amazing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
