Two new graduate fellowships at the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences will be supported by BRP USA, which makes powersports vehicles and propulsion systems.<\/p>\n

The $5,000, annual fellowships will be awarded to students conducting research that will help protect and preserve the world\u2019s fragile water resources, said Christopher Berg, global director of marketing and strategic planning at Evinrude, a PRP USA subsidiary based in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

Creation of the BRP\/Evinrude Water Research Excellence Fellowships comes on the heels of the company\u2019s recent donation of two of its Evinrude brand outboard motors to the school for use in its research vessels.<\/p>\n

The Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines are the cleanest combustion outboard engines available in the world. They deliver up to 20 percent more torque, up to 15 percent better fuel efficiency and up to 75 percent fewer total regulated emissions than leading competitive four-stroke engines.<\/p>\n

The engines and fellowships are provided as part of Evinrude\u2019s continuing support of local education and marine environment preservation, Berg said.<\/p>\n
