(UWM Photo\/Courtesy College of Health Sciences)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The students submitted an abstract to the Combined Sections Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association and won the \u201cProfessional Student Research Award\u201d from the Neurology Section.<\/p>\n<p>In February, the students presented their research in California: \u201cKnowledge Translation Considerations for Aerobic Exercise Prescription in Individuals with Parkinson\u2019s Disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a part of the American Physical Therapy Association, an organization with the goal of transforming society and improving the human experience by optimizing movement, the Combined Sections Meeting is the largest national physical therapy meeting in the country. More than 10,000 professionals attended the February conference.<\/p>\n<p>Contributors to the UWM project included Allison Amateis; Chelsea Boesel; Bryan Ehnert; Abby Evans; Kathryn Hurst; Katie Marek; Amanda Sullivan and Ashley May.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Graduate students in the UW-Milwaukee College of Health Sciences\u2019 Doctor of Physical Therapy program gained national attention for their research on Parkinson&#8217;s disease.
