Just three days after Sen. Bernie Sanders won a resounding victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the New Hampshire primary, the Democratic rivals for president will meet tonight on the UWM campus.<\/p>\n

The Democratic primary debate will begin at 8 p.m. in UWM\u2019s Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts just south of campus on Kenwood Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by PBS NewsHour,<\/em> the debate will be moderated by co-anchors Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff. The debate will be broadcast on PBS and CNN, and live streamed at pbs.org\/newshour<\/a> and cnn.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some 500 people \u2013 including 25 UWM students chosen in a lottery run by the Student Association \u2013 will be in the Helen Bader Concert Hall for the debate. More than 300 journalists will cover it from the UWM Student Union.<\/p>\n

Because of security concerns, traffic and parking restrictions will be in effect on and around campus.<\/p>\n

Kenwood Boulevard will be closed at 6 a.m. today between Downer Avenue and Maryland Avenue. The street is expected to reopen in the early morning of Feb. 12, but traffic may still be affected because of TV satellite trucks parked there.<\/p>\n

At 6 a.m. today, Farwell, Prospect and Stowell avenues will be closed to traffic between Kenwood Boulevard and Linwood Avenue. Police will control access to residences.<\/p>\n

Parking at the Northwest Quadrant garage will be available today only to pass holders, with access only through the northeast corner entrance.<\/p>\n

The Zelazo Center parking lot is already closed. The UWM Student Union parking garage will close to the public at 6 a.m. today and will reopen Friday, but is expected to be at or near capacity.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee County Transit bus routes will be re-routed today in the area of the Union on Kenwood Boulevard.<\/p>\n

The Union will be open to the public, but only through the east, west and north entrances. The south entrance will be closed.<\/p>\n

UWM students may watch the debate live in the Union Theater. The Union Wisconsin Room will be open to the public for debate viewing, on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
