Sociology and Urban Studies Professor Jennifer Jordan\u2019s book, \u201cEdible Memory: The Lure of Heirloom Tomatoes & Other Forgotten Foods,\u201d made the Los Angeles Public Library\u2019s list of top non-fiction books of 2015.<\/a><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how the library\u2019s reviewers described the book: \u201cOver the past few years heirloom vegetables have been the rage, but why? Sociologist Jennifer Jordan analyzes the big picture about this growing interest. One aspect is flavor, and another is nostalgia for the memory of vegetables and fruits that really, truly had some unique fragrance and flavor.\u201d<\/p>\n
