Anne Basting<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Anne Basting, who works extensively with older adults throughout the community, received a received a\u00a02015-17 Program of Distinction designation from Generations United, a national non-profit, for the\u00a0Timeslips Creative Storytelling Program.<\/p>\n

A professor of play analysis, and community-engaged performance practices coordinator in the Peck School of the Arts, <\/strong>Basting founded the TimeSlips program in 1996 as a way to help older adults with dementia and Alzheimer\u2019s with improvisation and creative drama techniques. TimeSlips was the name of a play she wrote based on her first work with these adults.<\/p>\n

Generations United\u00a0annually\u00a0recognizes outstanding intergenerational programs with the Program of Distinction designation. This designation, developed and launched in 2010 with support from the New York Life Foundation, serves as the U.S. benchmark for intergenerational programs and is based on the criteria that underpin the effectiveness of any intergenerational program.<\/p>\n

TimeSlips is one of six organizations in the United States to receive this award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
