{"id":139491,"date":"2024-11-18T10:53:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-18T16:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=139491"},"modified":"2024-11-18T10:53:30","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T16:53:30","slug":"presentation-dec-3-to-focus-on-records-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/presentation-dec-3-to-focus-on-records-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation Dec. 3 to focus on records management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two UWM experts will give a presentation Dec. 3 on compliance guidelines for retention and destruction of university records.<\/p>\n<p>In this virtual presentation, Derek Webb, UWM records officer, and Shiraz Bhathena, digital archivist, will walk campus employees through some fundamentals of records management such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How does records management benefit campus offices and employees?<\/li>\n<li>Who is responsible for managing records?<\/li>\n<li>What all counts as a record?<\/li>\n<li>How can I tell how long to keep records and what to do with them afterwards?<\/li>\n<li>Who can I call to help me with questions I have about records management?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The presentation will take place via Teams on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to noon and is open to all UWM faculty and staff who are responsible for university records.
