Campus Cares, which supports student, faculty and staff wellbeing by connecting them with services and resources across campus, is holding its Campus Cares Wellness Symposium on Sept. 10 at the UWM Student Union. Now is the time to get involved in this fall’s symposium \u2014 organizers are seeking proposals from staff, faculty and students until July 29.<\/span><\/p>\n

The symposium offers the campus community wellness-related resources, activities and TEDx-style talks on wellness topics. Last year’s activities included therapy dogs, beginners\u2019 yoga, chair massages, health and wellness benefits information, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

To propose a session, submit an abstract paragraph detailing your topic for a 15-minute presentation on subjects related to mental health, well-being, and\/or a culture of care that you want to share on the UWM stage. Topics can include the latest research in your field of interest, techniques you use, philosophical underpinnings of the work or in the field, humor, and fresh inquiries into mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n

Submit proposals to the Campus Cares team<\/a> by noon on Monday, July 29. Proposal submitters will be notified on Aug. 19 if their presentation is selected.<\/p>\n

Campus Cares was launched to address challenges identified during and before the COVID-19 pandemic, and has accelerated with additional data gathered, increased needs of students, faculty and staff, and momentum around certain programs.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
