A UWM alum is now a two-time Oscar winner.<\/p>\n
Josh Rosenberg, a 2006 graduate in broadcast journalism, is one of the producers of \u201cThe Last Repair Shop,\u201d which won an Academy Award on Sunday for documentary short film<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Last Repair Shop\u201d<\/a> tells a heartwarming story about the master craftspeople who service the 80,000 musical instruments for the Los Angeles public school system.<\/p>\n Rosenberg also shared an Academy Award<\/a> in 2022 for \u201cThe Queen of Basketball,\u201d<\/a> which tells the story of overlooked legend Lusia \u201cLucy\u201d Harris, who scored the first basket in women\u2019s Olympic history and remains the only woman to ever be officially drafted to the NBA.<\/p>\n Rosenberg gives credit to his education at UWM and especially his broadcast journalism teacher, Mark Zoromski, now retired.<\/p>\n \u201cMy love for telling amazing stories was cemented during my time at UWM,\u201d Rosenberg said. \u201cMark Zoromski instilled in me the power of humanity in your storytelling. If you can make the audience care, they will follow you anywhere. Oscars are great. But what is even more impactful is honoring someone who shares their most valuable asset with you \u2013 their story.\u201d<\/p>\n
