Students will only need to provide their name, student ID and where they want to apply. No essays are required, nor do students have to manually send in transcripts. After completing their brief intent form, they\u2019ll hear from UWM and\/or MATC in about a month regarding next steps.<\/p>\n
UWM Chancellor Mark Mone joined MATC President Vicki Martin and MPS Superintendent Keith Posley to announce the program at a Thursday morning news conference at Washington High School of Information Technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are all committed to increasing access to higher education and especially to those students who might not think of themselves as college material,\u201d Mone said.<\/p>\n
Opting in to the Milwaukee Direct Admit program does not commit students to attending UWM or MATC, and they still must accept their admissions offer to enroll. They\u2019ll also be responsible for tuition and other costs to attend college.<\/p>\n
