UWM Libraries and Center for 21st Century Studies will host the Future of Humanities Publishing Workshop on Nov. 2-3 at the UWM Golda Meir Library.<\/p>\n
Universities and their affiliated publishing landscapes continue to change rapidly. In the arts and humanities, presses, libraries and humanities centers have all played different roles in publishing and dissemination. Open access and community-engaged efforts continue to redefine our work.<\/p>\n
How might we reimagine these roles in this space of change? How do we attend to the mission of the university for humanities research generation and sharing? Join us for a two-day conversation about publishing in the humanities as we map out current roles and imagine new processes at the center, library, university, press and regional university system levels.<\/p>\n
Kathleen Fitzpatrick (Michigan State) will jumpstart the conversation on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. with a talk on “Building a More Generous University.”<\/p>\n
Lauren Cooper (Penn State), Jasmine Mulliken (Stanford Press) and Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe (University of Illinois) will start a conversation and later host breakout sessions on “Mapping Current and Future Roles” on Nov. 3, starting at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n
