It is legal to carry, and safe and easy to give. If you or someone you know is at increased risk for opioid overdose, carry Narcan and let others know you have it to keep yourself, your friends, and your community safer.<\/p>\n<h4>Who should carry Narcan?<\/h4>\n<p>Carry Narcan if you or someone you know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Uses opioids, such as morphine, heroin, or oxycodone; either alone or with alcohol\/other drugs.<\/li>\n<li>Uses other drugs, such as cocaine or methamphetamines, which can contain fentanyl without the user knowing. Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that can be lethal even in very small doses.<\/li>\n<li>Has an opioid use disorder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Where can I get Narcan?<\/h4>\n<p>Narcan is available for free on UWM campus. Check out the interactive map to find the location closest to you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/u\/0\/viewer?mid=1n8WgN8b-rA6t4LktHiFik0xq9MZ3cKk&amp;ll=43.26495888354284%2C-88.02615137417439&amp;z=10\">Map of Narcan at or near UWM<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Narcan is available for free at any Milwaukee-area fire station. These locations are also on the linked map above.<\/p>\n<h4>Learn More<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/wellness\/event\/opioid-awareness-tips-and-tools\/\">Opioid Awareness Tips and Tools Event:<\/a> Come out to get your free Narcan at the Golda Meir Library on Thursday, May 4. You\u2019ll receive a brief demo on how to respond to a suspected overdose and how to give Narcan.
