The true crime genre is one of the fastest-growing forms of media out there today, from podcasts to books and television documentaries. Dr. Stacey Nye sheds some light on our fascination with real-life crime during a Master Chat series session: The Psychology Behind the Rise in Popularity of True Crime Media<\/a>, from 10:30 a.m. to noon on March 29, in the Golda Meir Library’s fourth-floor conference center.<\/p>\n

Nye is a clinical psychologist, owner of Nye Psychotherapy, a clinical professor of psychology and the director of the UWM Psychology Clinic. A true crime aficionado, she is regularly interviewed by television and radio news programs on the appeal of true crime. Nye is also a podcaster \u2014 the creator and host of The SH*T That Happens to Me Podcast, and the creator and cohost of Psychoanalyzing the Patient Podcast.<\/p>\n

The session is free and open to all, with refreshments available at 10:30. The discussion will begin at 11 a.m. Please note that this presentation contains depictions of violence, which some people may find disturbing.<\/p>\n
