{"id":110183,"date":"2022-08-15T14:28:47","date_gmt":"2022-08-15T19:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=110183"},"modified":"2023-05-10T15:43:34","modified_gmt":"2023-05-10T20:43:34","slug":"nadya-fouad-honored-as-a-distinguished-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/nadya-fouad-honored-as-a-distinguished-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Nadya Fouad honored as a distinguished leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The American Psychological Association Committee on Women in Psychology honored UWM\u2019s Nadya Fouad as a Distinguished Leader for Women in Psychology at its convention recently in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_110184\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-110184\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-110184\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/41\/2022\/08\/Fouad250x300-20190411_TCF_SOE_8515.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-110184\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nadya Fouad<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fouad is distinguished professor &amp; Mary and Ted Kellner Endowed Chair of Educational Psychology in the School of Education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The award was given to Fouad \u201cin recognition of her longstanding and sustained commitment to advancing women\u2019s issues and her professional contributions to the scholarship, mentorship, and empowerment and leadership development of women in psychology,\u201d according to the citation. Fouad is a leading scholar on the career decisions of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAcross all of her professional activities, Dr. Fouad\u2019s dedication to the advancement and inclusion of women, particularly women of color, in STEM, professional psychology, and academia has been notable and influential,\u201d
