{"id":106385,"date":"2022-05-03T09:30:59","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T14:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/?p=106385"},"modified":"2022-05-02T17:39:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T22:39:25","slug":"student-union-to-close-this-summer-for-renovations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/news\/student-union-to-close-this-summer-for-renovations\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Union to close this summer for renovations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The UWM Student Union and parking garage will be closed this summer, beginning Monday, May 23, in order to keep the renovation project timeline on track.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This closure is necessary because the building will need to be without electricity, HVAC and water as these systems are updated and replaced. We have worked closely with our partners at HGA architects and Findorff construction to schedule this shutdown during the summer to minimize the disruption caused by the union closure. The renovation timeline provides confidence that the union will re-open by Fall 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resources and services affected by the building closure will remain available, either virtually or at a temporary location on campus.
