This change helps to keep campus members&#8217; UWM accounts secure while working remotely and reduce the possibility of cybercrimes being committed using compromised accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Using a VPN while working remotely is imperative to keeping your device, and the work you do on it, safe. Enabling the GlobalProtect VPN encrypts the traffic you generate while using UWM-owned services. It&#8217;s especially important to use the VPN when connected to unprotected WiFi sources (coffee shops, doctor\u2019s offices, etc.), and they can even be downloaded to your mobile device.
