UWM men’s basketball eliminated in Horizon League semifinals

UWM’s men’s basketball team saw its Horizon League tournament run conclude with a 59-53 semifinal loss to Wright State Monday night at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

UWM’s first season under coach Pat Baldwin ends with a record of 16-17. That’s five more wins than the Panthers had in the previous season.

Jeremiah Bell led the sixth-seeded Panthers with 22 points against No. 2 seed Wright State, while Brock Stull added 13. Bryce Nze had 14 rebounds for UWM.

The Panthers, who had beaten Wright State both times the teams played in the regular season, shot just 31.3 percent from the field.

Louden Love led Wright State, now 24-9, with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
