UWM to launch historic fundraising campaign on Monday

MILWAUKEE _ The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will officially launch the public phase of a universitywide fundraising campaign on Monday, Sept. 25, at the We Energies Public Service Building, 231 W. Michigan St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Speakers will include Chancellor Mark A. Mone; Patricia Borger, vice chancellor for development & alumni relations; and campaign co-chairs Gale Klappa, chairman of WEC Energy Group; Michael Falbo, regent emeritus of the UW System; Ted Kellner, chairman and CEO of T&M Partners LLC; and Sheldon Lubar, founder and chairman of Lubar & Co.

The campaign goal will be announced at this event. As many as 200 campaign volunteers, donors, alumni and friends are expected to attend. The university’s last campaign, which concluded in 2008, raised $120 million.
