UWM Food Center and Pantry holding Cultural Food Drive

The UWM Food Center and Pantry is collaborating with the Inclusive Excellence Center to hold its second annual Cultural Food Drive through Dec. 10.

The idea is to collect food reflective of the multitude of holidays and food traditions that often get overshadowed by things such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. The goal is to make food available at the UWM Food Center and Pantry that reflects the diverse social, cultural, religious, racial and/or ethnic food needs of the entire UWM community.

The spring 2018 drive collected over 480 pounds of culturally affirming food and provided the food pantry with an initial list of foods to prioritize. Food drive organizers aim to double that number for this year’s drive.
