UWM announces a new development in energy May 25

MILWAUKEE _ Engineering researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Eaton will announce a new development in the field of energy that brings the expertise at UWM together with energy companies and utilities throughout the U.S.

Adel Nasiri, Associate Dean for Research at UWM’s College of Engineering & Applied Science, will make the announcement Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the University Services & Research building, 115 E. Reindl Way. Igor Stamenkovic, Global Technology Director at Eaton, one of UWM’s industry partners, will also speak.

VISUALS AVAILABLE: At various sites around the building’s parking lot are a wind turbine, a bank of solar cells, and large battery storage facility, which graduate students will be working on. Inside is a model of how electricity is distributed within a building and a poster that simply illustrates the components of the innovation being announced.
