Parking permits expiring; construction to close some lots this summer

All annual parking and transit permits will expire on Thursday, May 31. Permits for the 2018-19 fiscal year are available online. The pricing for annual permits has remained the same since the 2017-18 year.

Due to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, all pre-tax payroll deductions for parking and bus passes are changing to post-tax. Effective Friday, June 1, these fees will be deducted on a post-tax basis for all UW System administration and UWM employees.

During summer 2018, construction projects will affect parking on campus at the NWQ, Pavilion, Sandburg, Lubar and EMS garages and the Zelazo parking lot.

The NWQ Garage is expected to be closed from Monday, May 21 through Wednesday, June 20. During construction, permit holders will be able to park in the Pavilion and Sandburg garages or any of the hunting parking lots.

The Pavilion Garage is expected to be closed from Wednesday, July 11 through Monday, Aug. 20. During construction, permit holders will be able to park in the NWQ Garage or any of the hunting parking lots.

The Sandburg Garage is expected to be closed from Monday, June 25 through Friday, Aug. 3. During construction, permit holders will be able to park in the NWQ Garage or any of the hunting parking lots and will also receive a $1.50 credit per day.

The Lubar Garage is expected to be closed Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 22. During construction, permit holders will be able to park in the Union Garage.

The EMS Garage is expected to be closed from Monday, June 18 through Monday, July 6. During construction, permit holders will be able to park in any of the hunting parking lots and will also receive a $1.50 credit per day.

The Zelazo parking lot will be restricted to Zelazo reserved permits, disabled parkers and student tours from Friday, June 1 through Friday, Aug. 31. This lot will not be available to hunting/regular permits, Parkmobile or pay station parkers.

Construction end dates are estimates, and all permit holders will be notified when construction concludes.
