Health disparities discussion to take place Nov. 8

The UWM College of Nursing will be hosting a discussion about health disparities in Milwaukee using innovative approaches across the health care spectrum. The discussion will take place in room G40 of Cunningham Hall on Nov. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The discussion will highlight the contradiction between Milwaukee’s top-notch health care systems and booming HealthTech industry, and the persistent health disparities among residents of the greater Milwaukee area. In addition, the event will also discuss the ways that health care is accessed and delivered, and how these methods remain vitally important in addressing the challenges associated with health disparities.

This event will approach the problem by identifying health-related difficulties in Milwaukee and hearing from innovators that are providing unique solutions. The panel will also determine areas of progress and identify opportunities ready for the next company or entrepreneur to tackle.

Members of the Milwaukee HealthTech community will be present to respond to respond to these issues and discuss possible solutions.
