2018 Faculty and Staff Holiday Social draws record turnout

More than 650 UWM employees attended this year’s Faculty and Staff Holiday Social, which celebrated the City of Milwaukee with its “Made in Milwaukee, Shaping the World” theme.

It was a record turnout for the annual event, and this year’s theme also recognized the Development campaign that has raised more than $216 million since its launch in September 2017.

Employees who attended the party enjoyed socializing with colleagues, snapping pictures with Pounce and the Brewers’ mascots in a photo booth, contests, crafts, and a Made In Milwaukee-themed menu that included butter burgers, make-your-own cream puffs, Milwaukee Pretzel Co. pretzels with cheese sauce and Sprecher root beer.

“Everyone had a great time,” said Ana Gonzalez, executive assistant to the vice provost for research.

Employees attending the holiday social were asked to bring a donation to Meta House, a local organization that works to end the generational cycle of addiction by healing Milwaukee women and strengthening their families. Additional donations can still be made on the Meta House website or by purchasing items from the Meta House Amazon wish list.
