African Diaspora Council holding school supplies drive

The UWM African Diaspora Council is collecting school supplies for LaFollette Elementary School during its sixth annual drive. LaFollette is an MPS school about two miles west of campus.

Members of the UWM community can help LaFollette students and staff start the 2022-2023 school year and have supplies through the academic year by donating items such as Clorox wipes, rulers, chalk, hand sanitizer, dry erase markers, colored pencils, backpacks, construction paper, binders and child-safe scissors.

Donations can be dropped off from Sept. 7 to Oct. 5 at Chapman 118, Engelmann 125, the west wing entrance of the Golda Meir Library, Bolton 192 or UWM Police Dispatch Desk in Sandburg West Tower. The drop sites are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The African Diaspora Council also accepts monetary donations. Cash gifts can be sent via:

  • PayPal: @uwmadc or paypal.me/uwmadc
