2020-21 FAFSA filing has begun

The 2020-21 FAFSA became available Oct. 1. It is important to complete now as some programs have limited funds.

Students attending UWM during fall 2020 and/or spring 2021 terms should complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Some tips:

• Never pay to submit a financial aid application. Be sure to go to FAFSA.gov or use the myStudentAid mobile app to apply. Select 2020-21 FAFSA. UWM’s school code is 003896.

• Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer your 2018 federal tax information quickly and accurately. If you are unable to utilize the tool, make sure to use your 2018 federal tax information.
