University-Neighborhood Initiative to Engage (UNITE)

Professionals from UWM are excited to get out in the neighborhood surrounding UWM this August to welcome UWM students back to school and deliver bags full of great give-a-ways, goodies from campus resource centers, and coupons from local businesses to our students who live within walking distance from campus!

How can I make sure to receive a bag?

UWM students should update their local (to UWM’s campus) address in their PAWS account by following these address update instructions by August 15th, 2019 so our team can make sure to stop at your door. Additionally, make sure to answer your door when volunteers come knocking or ringing the doorbell!

What’s in the bags?

  • Welcome back letter from UWM
  • The official off-campus checklist
  • Garbage schedule
  • Fall Welcome schedule
  • Coupons from local businesses
  • Swag items from campus offices
  • and much more!

When will bags be delivered?

Our volunteers from campus will begin walking the neighborhood at 10am on Thursday, August 22nd 2019 and will be out until 5pm. If you’re not home, volunteers may leave your bag at your door. You may even get a visit from the chancellor.
